💼 E-RECRUITMENT

In this rapidly changing global world economy, the only vital value for an enterprise is the experience, skills, and innovativeness of its human resources. They are the key components in every booming organisation. Competitive organisations have to attract the best and outstanding employees to remain competitive in the market. The internet has become the platform of the recruitment process, which is referred to as E-recruitment.

E-recruitment is the process of personnel recruitment using electronic resources, in particular the internet. Companies and recruitment agents have moved much of their recruitment process online to improve the speed by which job candidates can be matched with live vacancies. Using database technologies, online job advertising boards and search engines, employers can now fill posts in a fraction of time.

The fact that employers search the web for potential candidates for example, by checking LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook is a strong argument for having a social media presence. "LinkedIn is extremely professional and easy to use, so it is worth building a solid profile there by connecting with people in a professional context to build a network."

Twitter is a useful tool, too. As a jobseeker, you ought to follow the companies you would like to work for and put yourself on their radar by interacting with them. If you want to make it easier for search engines to find you, use your own name as your Twitter name rather than something funny.

If you decide to use Facebook to promote yourself as a job candidate, then you need to be very careful not to post anything that might alienate a potential employer. That could mean posts that reveal your religious or political beliefs, as well as photos that show you partying on the beach or otherwise using inappropriate profile photos.

The internet, especially social media sites, has radically changed job searches and can help you find your dream job. While you need to be cautious about the information you reveal online, this does not mean you should avoid social networks altogether. Because not having an online profile may signal that you are unprofessional or technologically illiterate.
